This event is designed for 5th graders and older AND their parents to attend together.
Childcare is NOT provided for those younger than 5th grade. Some content not appropriate for younger ages.
Come Together is divided into six 35-minute sessions and a lunch session. The sessions were designed to resource families and encourage them to tackle cultural issues through a biblical worldview. By navigating where our habits come from, hoe we derive ideas, and the effects of our community, families are encouraged to look at what is driving their lives and how they can leave a legacy of hope to the next generation.
Sessions include: Alone Together-How is technology discipling us? This session discusses how we, as the image of God, can use the gift of technology with wisdom, thereby allowing us to once again own technology, rather than technology owning us.
Sex, Drugs, College and Jesus-Culture’s vision of the roles of sex (intimacy), drugs (pleasure), and college (education) in our lives is one that seems fulfilling and beautiful but only leaves us dissatisfied and broken in the end. This session discusses how we can once again view these very good parts of our lives from God’s perspective.
How to Read the Bible Like the Devil-The complete story of the Bible is often lost because of our affinity for tweetable nuggets of Scripture. But when we lose the big-picture view of the story God is telling, it’s easy to distort, twist, and ultimately lose the meaning of God’s Word.
